U11 Thunder take 3rd at Starfire

The Semi Thunder, a U11 spring travel team, captured 3rd place at the Starfire Memorial Cup Tournament this past weekend.  They finished with a record of 2 wins and 1 loss and 21 points -- their only loss was to the eventual champions.

"For most of the players, this was their first real travel team experience, and they are to be commended for their performance and behaviour.  I was especially pleased with how the girls learned from each game, and improved as the tournament went on.  The caliber of opposition challenged the girls, and for the most part they responded.

Having Mark McQueen on the sidelines and interacting off the field with the girls was extremely valuable. Not only have the girls become better players from the experience, they really bonded as a team."
