“Where performance is driven by passion, talent and development.”

Semiahmoo Soccer Club is pleased to begin its’ third Spring season as part of the Pacific Coast Soccer League (PCSL).  Semihamoo SC will showcase a Premier and U21 Reserve squad this season, with league play beginning May 2008.

Here at Semiahmoo, a club dedicated to women and girls’ soccer, our performance is driven by passion, talent and a concentration on player development.  There is no better reflection of that statement than through our Head Coach, Ciaran McMahon.  Ciaran’s dedication to SSC spans over 13 years.  He is a pioneer in women and girls soccer, contributing not only expertise, but countless hours of coaching and mentorship.  Ciaran is a current A license candidate coach and has completed his CSA National B license and NCCP level 3 theory. Ciaran has a B. A. Sc. and B. Ed. From UBC and is a certified teacher.   He has coached players at all levels of the game (beginner to international) and of all ages (5 to 55) and as such bring a strong understanding of the process of developing strong youth players into strong adult players at many levels of the game.  Ciaran has coached both youth and adult teams with Semiahmoo SC, Point Grey Soccer Club, Peace Arch Soccer Club, Tri-Cities Xtreme Premier Soccer Club and the BC Soccer Association.  He was also instrumental in starting the Junior Girls and Grade 8 Girls soccer programs at Earl Marriott Secondary School

SSC, under the leadership and vision of Ciaran and club President, Darryl Jones have created a truly professional club program.  Our vision at Semiahmoo is to work within the framework of the BC Soccer pyramid of development, to provide top level programming for players in and around the lower mainland.

Our goals are:

        1)      To create an environment for players to showcase their talent.

        2)      To provide opportunities for youth players to play and train at a level that will prepare them for             college, university and professional environments.

        3)      To provide an opportunity for local residents and business to support women's and girls soccer         in the peninsula.

What is Pacific Coast Soccer League?   logo-pcsl.jpg

The British Columbia based Pacific Coast Soccer League (PCSL) celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2005, very likely making it the oldest soccer league in the Pacific North West. The pioneers of this league could not have anticipated how their original four team league would evolve.

The PCSL Premier Division is recognised by the Canadian Soccer Association (CSA) as a North American Division Three League.

Division One

Women's United Soccer Association (WUSA)

Division Two

United Soccer Leagues (USL) W-League

Division Three

Pacific Coast Soccer League

The PCSL offers wonderful playing opportunities for men and women in premier and under 21 reserve divisions, for talented players from Canada and the United States of America who are interested in a high level of competition and the opportunity to travel the Pacific Northwest for league games and tournaments during the summer.

The Pacific Coast Soccer League is an inter-city, cross-border league with a season that runs typically from May to August. Member clubs are drawn from across the Pacific Northwest in cities from the British Columbia interior, the Fraser Valley, the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island, through Washington State and Oregon at times.

Further details on the history of the league and its’ history can be found at www.pcsl.org .

Program Structure

Premier and U21 Reserve teams:

Teams will commit to 3 or 4 training sessions per week plus a 16 to 20 game season.  The training environment will reflect a professional atmosphere which will include specialized training in conditioning and goalkeeping.  Professional coaches will run progressive and challenging sessions that will help each team meet its objectives and ultimately create wins throughout the season.  In order for this environment to be successful, players are expected to commit full time to training and game schedules.

Player involvement in this program is fee based and subject to acceptance by the Head Coach.   If you are interested in being a part of this unique program please contact Ciaran McMahon at ciaran@shaw.ca.

We will b e hosting a series of open tryouts and closed evaluation sessions to determine this year’s Premier and U21 teams.  Please see Tryout schedule and information posted here.
