New Program Information for U5 and U6 Players
Introduction to Soccer for players born in 2003 (U6) and 2004 (U5) will be offered in 2, 10-week sessions.
Session 1: FALL SESSION
Wednesdays - October 8th - December 10th, 2008
Thursdays - October 9th - December 11th, 2008
Session 2: WINTER SESSION
Wednesdays - January 7th - March 11th, 2009
Thursdays - January 8th - March 12th, 2009
One session per week (WEDNESDAY OR THURSDAYS) . No practices or additional sessions.
The benefits of this new program and division are that it gives new players (to soccer or that are curious about soccer) a chance to see what soccer is all about and if they like it. The sessions will be run by professional coaches. Great opportunity for parents to help volunteer and assist if interested, and begin learning or re-learning basic soccer skills and being involved in coaching kids.
Held every Wednesday or Thursday evening indoors for a 1 hr. session. Times are scheduled for 5:00 - 6:00 pm and 6:00 - 7:00 pm. All sessions will be held indoors to help with weather conditions and maximize playability.
Main focus on player development, introduction to soccer, and most importantly having lots of fun. Players will each be given a jersey and are required to wear shin guards at the sessions. At the end of each session, the players will be divided up and participate in a mini game.
While no parent coaches/volunteers are required for the sessions, in order to maximize the value of the sessions and to also help with the future of Semiahmoo Soccer Club, parent assistance is appreciated and encouraged. As the children move into older age divisions, coaches are always needed and this is a great opportunity to try your hand at coaching and see the rewards that coaching offers.

In addition to the 10 weekly sessions, we will also have 1 or 2 outdoor sessions held on Sunday afternoon, weather permitting.
After your player has registered, you will need to contact the Mini Coordinator to indicate whether you would prefer the early or late time slot session. Please also note if you would be interested in assisting at the sessions.
Times of the sessions will be confirmed as soon as possible.
