A reminder to all coaches and managers of the protocol for picking up players for games and tournaments.
Semiahmoo Soccer Club policy on this is very simple … if you require a player (or players) to complete a roster for a game/tournament, the following procedure applies. - A requesting coach first asks the coach of the player(s) desired, if their team is engaged in any soccer activity during the time in question;
- If they are not involved in any activities at that time, then the requesting coach asks permission to “pick-up” players, do not approach the players or their parents first;
- If the coach is willing to release the players, they then discuss how the players will be contacted, either by the coach or the coach looking to pick-up the player;
Please avoid going through the “back door” to recruit players … it does not set a good tone for long lasting relationships amongst Club coaches. Thank you, Richard Coulter. |
