To all members of Semiahmoo Soccer Club,
NOTICE OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING – notice is hereby given that the annual general meeting of members of the Semiahmoo Soccer Club will take place on Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at 6:00 pm in the Banquet Room in the Rotary Fieldhouse located in South Surrey Athletic Park.
The meeting is being convened in accordance with the Society Act of BC to: 1. Hear and accept the Officers’ Reports, including the Club’s financial statements for the year ended March 31, 2008; 2. Accept the proposed budget for the year ended March 31, 2009; 3. Elect a President, Treasurer, Director of Women’s Programs, Director of Youth (U14-U18), Director of Mini’s (U5-U10), Director of Selects, Director of Volunteers, Director at Large, and Director of South District (re: Club rep); and 4. deal with other business that is properly brought forward by the membership.
Your attendance would be appreciated as a show of support for the Club’s Executive. Please also consider offering your time as or in assistance of a Director position. A description of the roles and responsibilities of the Officers and Directors of the Club can be found at www.semiahmoosoccer.com .
AWARDS NIGHT – immediately following the
Annual General Meeting, we will be holding our annual Awards Night. The Award
presentations will begin at 7:00 pm and include (in order of presentation):

Whitecaps, for our U11-18 teams)

Sue Baxter Volunteer of the Year
·
Executive of the Year
·
Coaching staff of the Year (U11-18)

Rod MacLeod Manager of the Year

Women’s team of the Year

Christie McGlashan Memorial Bursary (for eligible
graduating youth players)

Graduating Class (for those finishing their youth
soccer career)
We really urge you to come out and support our
award-winners.
COACH APPRECIATION NIGHT – immediately following the
Awards presentations (at approximately 8:30 pm), we will be holding our Coach
Appreciation Night. We encourage all of our youth and adult team Head Coaches, Co-Coaches,
Assistant Coaches and Managers to attend. We will have some special door prizes
and share some stories from the past season.
PLAYER EVALUATIONS FOR NEXT SEASON’S
REP TEAMS -
all players who wish to attend the rep player evaluation sessions for U13 and
older for the Semiahmoo Soccer Club rep team season in 2008-2009 need to
pre-register online (at www.semiahmoosoccer.com
). Look for the green “REGISTER” button in the top right of the
home page. Just click on to “Rep Player Evaluation Registration” link
under the button and you’re in the registration system. Please check off
all the sessions you wish to attend (eg Metro, Gold, Silver A). There is a $10
registration fee (as there was last year), which is paid only once (even if you
try out for metro gold and/or silver) at the time of check-in at the SSAP
Concession. You are required to attend at least 2 of the 3 scheduled sessions -
this is explained in the evaluation session information on the Club website.
TEAMS IN PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS – congratulations to those
teams who have qualified for and/or are still alive in playdowns for the 2008 Provincial
Cup (A Cup) and BCSA Cup (B Cup) Championships. They are our own:
