Spring League Junior Coaches Wanted
Request for Spring League JUNIOR Coaches
To all U17 and U18 soccer players
Last year twelve U17-U18 soccer players with the Semiahmoo Soccer Club volunteered to coach, or help coach a U5-U8 Spring League soccer team. They all had played at least 5 years, and some were also referees. All attended the CCC coaching clinic, which taught them valuable coaching skills. This was a huge success; everyone benefited from this experience. The young coaches enjoyed themselves and learned leadership skills, organizational skills, team management, and some soccer skills. The Club received the much needed help with the spring season, and the players and parents on those teams had a lot of fun under the direction of the young coaches.
Each new applicant should submit a resume by February 01, 2012; also each prospective coach must attend an official coaching clinic prior to 15 April. The clinic is an 8 hour course on a Saturday, and is paid by the Club. Also, professional technical coaching resources will be available to assist coaches as needed during Spring Soccer.
This is a great opportunity to volunteer your time to the community, and have some fun as well. These volunteer hours (20) can also go towards fulfilling the High School volunteer requirement. The Club will provide a certificate to all youths to add to their portfolio. The young girls that you mentor will look up to you and have fun learning soccer skills. You will learn some valuable life skills and have a valuable addition to your resume.
Anyone interested in becoming a coach in the 2012 Spring League please contact me.
I look forward to hearing from you!
